Players Play-List:
During West Brom’s most successful season in the Premier League, the week before every home game, two different players would take part in a stadium playlist battle.
Each player would submit four songs they would like to be played in the ground before kick-off and fans would vote on Facebook to choose their favourite.
This gave the fans a direct connection with the players and at the same time offered an illuminating insight into each players musical tastes.
For the home game against Everton, in 2012, Jonas Olsson, was pitted against Shane Long.
Jonas Olsson Playlist:
The Rolling Stones – Gimme Shelter.
Blur – Song 2.
Iggy Pop – The Passenger.
Babyshambles – Albion.
And
Shane Long Playlist:
The Killers – Mr Brightside.
Mumford & Sons – Little Lion Man.
Red Hot Chilli Peppers – Under The Bridge.
I’ll let you make up your own mind who you think won? But, he was still at the club in 2017!
So, if you want to make your training truly interesting and stimulating, it makes sense to devise your own playlist for each of your players, which you can listen to during or before the exercises, to get you in the right frame of mind.
