Lifestyle Beliefs

 

Goal: Adopt Beliefs that lead to a healthier lifestyle.

Action: Kick out the “Hooligans”

Purpose: Improve the shape of your team and how well it plays.

 

It all starts with your beliefs.

 

Whether you believe you have a healthy lifestyle (diet, exercise, stress etc) what actions you need to take to improve it, and the best tactics to use, all depend upon the beliefs you hold.

So, begin by identifying those Self-Limiting “Hooligan” Beliefs that have been on your team for far too long and are now preventing progress. (See Belief Training).

These may include:

1. My lifestyle is poor and there is nothing I can do about it.
2. My lifestyle depends mainly upon how much money I have.
3. I don’t need a healthy lifestyle.
4. I can’t change my bad habits.

Then use your Question Coach Blitz.

Q. Other people have a healthy lifestyle, why can’t I?
Q. How can a poor lifestyle affect my health, now and in the future?
Q. What is the root cause of my poor lifestyle?
Q. What changes do I need to make?

I believe I have a healthy lifestyle because I am very rarely ill.
I believe smoking is detrimental to my health
I believe a good lifestyle is vital for my health, helping to prevent infections and cancer.
I believe I have the necessary tools and resources available to help me stop (smoking).

Transfer Market.

I can’t stop smoking  –  I can stop smoking.
I don’t need to do anything about it  –  I do need to do something.
I don’t have the motivation to make changes –  I do have the motivation to change.

Academy Development.

Health Goal: To Stop Smoking.
Skills Needed: Stress Reduction/Relaxation
Health Belief: Stopping smoking is possible and will have a big positive impact upon my overall health.
